PROXAFIX PFNA Implants – A Quick Glimpse
Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation (PFNA) implants are used to treat trochanteric femoral fractures. These implants also provide the option of augmentation. PFNA is an intramedullary implant that prevents the rotation of the femoral head. It ensures improved management of unstable trochanteric fractures, especially in the elderly. PROXAFIX PFNA – II Implants provided by Siora are known to ensure easy insertion along with rotational and angular stability. PROXAFIX PFNA Implants are anatomically designed which ensures optimal fitting in the femur when applied.
These implants are considered excellent for osteosynthesis and have delivered excellent post-surgical results. We offer two types of PFNA Nails:

Types of PROXAFIX PFNA Nails
Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation Short – PFNA Short finds application for the treatment of fractures in the pertrochanteric, intertrochanteric, and high subtrochanteric regions.
Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation Long – PFNA Long is used for treating low and extended subtrochanteric fractures, ipsilateral fractures, combination fractures in the proximal femur, and pathological fractures in the femur. PFNA Long nails also allow for secondary dynamization. It improves the contact area at the fracture site and this helps reduce the time needed for union.
